One way of looking at it certainly. To be sure, one of the reasons people often become frustrated with online marketing efforts, even those that cost comparatively little or nothing, is that they measure everything by number of sales. So you can understand why businesses might look at paid advertising even more this way. Unfortunately, both of these points of view might turn out to be quite shortsighted and even damaging to one's business in the end. It can be very hard to sell something no one knows about.
