My experience with using social media ads for selling my book catalog isn't positive. I found that when dealing with relatively small margins, as is often the case for small business, the costs are way too high. Has anyone had better success?

Advertising for small margin products is always a challenge no matter what the channel is. Also, direct selling on social media rarely works, most focus on brand awareness and optin offers, informational content and to get people on their email list. It takes time to build out a proper marketing funnel but that is really where you are going to get better results. And yes, I have had success with it both personally and with clients, it just takes time, testing and gradual improvement of your funnel.
