The assumption that many companies have is that their product is easy to figure out so the person buying it shouldn’t have a problem using it. Then they skimp on what really is the key to success - the customer service and the post sales education of the product! So here are a few things that we as small business owners can do to beef up our customer service and post sale education to keep the customer educated so these sales don’t come back to bite us!

Lots of Great Ideas, Jason! You bought an iPhone4, and the guy said: "Any questions - check YouTube???" Not call me & I'll be glad to help, or try Apple??? That's 2 strikes!

Thanks, Duncan! Yeah the guy told me to go YouTube. I was kind of surprised he directed me there instead of Apple, but maybe it's because people are more accustomed to using YouTube.

There are probably varying degrees of relationship you can have with a customer after a sale but I'm frequently amazed how many people just cut the customer loose after the transaction is completed. As if there's no benefit at all to maintaining the relationship.

So True! Many companies put so much effort into getting the customer, but forget about them after the sale. Which is unfortunate since It's always so much easier to resell to a current customer so keeping them happy with your company and products after the sale is a huge must! Thanks for sharing!
