Driving traffic to your website and then monetizing the traffic just keeps getting harder. But if you have a newsletter, you might be sitting on a revenue gold mine.

Thanks for the great question. Like Chris Brogan mentions Email is far from dead and is still a great way to connect with your audience on desktop and mobile.

Like any other marketing channel, your newsletter should have a clear strategy and goals set up. So before being able to answer about the format of a mailing list you need to first fully understand your audience and how they like to engage through email. This can be accomplished by using an Email Service Provider (ESP) that provides useful user data. Then, decide if you want maximum exposure or return on investment from your newsletters.

Bottom line, I like having a balance between the two strategies. Max exposure and return on investment. The AdNgin newsletter is designed to provide added value, curate relevant news from across the web, and convert readers into users of the AdNgin platform. The newsletter is still not humming with perfect efficiency because finding balance isn't easy. Only way to do get there is through continuous testing.

Good luck

Eyal: Welcome to BizSugar! I have decided that 2016 will the year when I start an email list for real. I got inspired by Chris Brogan's strong emphasis on the power of a email newsletter. Do you have have tips on the format for a mailing list by a podcaster and social media evangelist like me? ;)
