All of this is great--we should always have the presence of mind to plan our policies in advance, but every now and then you still get a non-paying customer to deal with, and then nothing beats hiring a collection agency to deal with it.

Brilliant suggestions. I have been stung by two clients in the last year - one has now finally paid and the other still owing (and avoiding). I am lucky that the rest of my clients pay regularly and on time. Any new ones I will be consulting your tips. Thank you for sharing
