I think kids should definitely be taught budgeting at a young age. I have seen countless of my peers waste their parents hard earned money on things that do not really matter.

It's okay to let the child practice in budgeting his/her own allowance but telling them about the home budget plan or family financial problem will surely make the child depressed. And resulting to that, the child cannot focus anymore to the study because he/she is thinking how can he/ she help? I experienced that situation and it drives me crazy.
