Your point is well taken. We have to be careful with credit, but even to do the basics like travel to conferences, i.e., book flights, hotel, and cars we need to get that credit score to a reasonable level to have a credit card--it's ashame, but a necessary small business tool.

Great tips, Bill. Thanks for sharing. I think as entrepreneurs and small business folks these days we've grown a bit too dependent on credit. This puts us at a tremendous disadvantage during credit crunches like the present one. Still, sometimes credit is important, especially for that low cost easy to pay off tech upgrade or other small investment that would tie up more cash flow than you might prefer when paying all at once and yet pays for itself many times over in productivity.
