In this case study, Vanity Planet A/B tested the results of adding Instagram photos to its most popular product pages to see how it would affect conversion rate.
Vanity Planet is an online marketplace that sells beauty, grooming and health products for mindful & savvy shoppers.

In August 2016, Vanity Planet sold its 500,000th Spin for a Perfect Skin, its signature skincare product.

The original product page for Spin for a Perfect Skin was already very strong. It had a minimalist design, elegant color contrast, and a lot of reviews. With a 6% checkout rate, the product page was performing well above eCommerce standards.

I never knew that user generated photos from Instagram could make such an impact on sales until I read this case study. Truly actionable data for us to implement on our client's sites and our own.

Hi Erik,

I truly love the idea of adding Instagram photos in checkouts. Pretty sick results and thanks for sharing!

I agree with Kristi. If I see real people using a product (and loving it), I'm more likely to buy that product!

These are great results! I'm not surprised though - when I go to check out a product, I love seeing photos of real people using the product. Especially if it's clothing.
