Every year, hundreds of thousands of employees in sectors such as financial services undertake compliance training. This is important, but if I leave Bank A to work for Bank B, I have to do my training all over again. Collectively we are wasting countless hours on what we already know!

Open Badges (http://openbadges.org) are a universal standard for the representation of knowledge and skills. My idea is for our regulators to issue Open Badges to employees who have completed accredited compliance training in Australia. Each badge may expire after 2 years (for example), which will allow employees to continue working at another company without having to re-do their training until recertification is required.
