Hi David,

Thanks for the list. Taking regular breaks works for me. Even when I worked in an office I coudn't sit all day, maybe that is why meetings were invented to get you to move. Even a short walk can clear the brain.

I have a trampoline for the kids. If I strain my neck I can see it from here. But it's more useful if I strain my legs and jump on it for five minutes mid-morning and mid-afternoon. :-)

That's quite the list of tips. Working from home can be a challenge. Creating a healthy work space and routine are key.

Hi David,

One thing I do to is to block out a specific time when all I do is write. I don't check email, Twitter, Facebook, answer the phone, read text messages or surf the 'net. I dedicate the core part of my day to writing. It helps.

One other thing that works for me is getting rid of notification messages/tones on my computer. I don't need to have real-time updates when people email me or tweet me. I'll get to it when it makes sense to my schedule.

Thanks for the exhaustive list.

Holy S%@t David, that's a lot of tips. I read the first page but it will take me a bit to get through the links. I have my own three tips for working from home: 1) Start early 2) Take dog out often 3) Reward self with a pint of Guinness at the end of a long workday! Thanks for a great post!

This pretty much describes me and my work habits, so I just had to share. (I suspect it describes several of us.)
