Hi Derbhile, thanks to you for publishing this post on Bloggertone. I think having different and unique perspectives within an organisation is a crucial and important aspect of doing good business. The key message for me is to look for a person's abilities and talents and how these can add to the team.

As a person with a disability (two very rare genetic immunological disorders), I appreciate this article very much. I have always been up front during interviews about my situation (two day-long hospitalizations per month, two days after each hospitalization with side-effects that don't allow me to work, and I must work from home).

I have found employers to be very understanding, gracious, and when they see how capable I am, barriers go down and doors open.

Understanding and accomodation doesn't just employ people with disabilities, it EMPOWERS them!
