I have heard that people have listed public speaking as the biggest fear in surveys in Europe. They listed a talk in front of a bunch of listeners is the scariest thing to do in life. They fear it more than the death! Could this be true?

How does a small business person handle this? Do you think that Shark Tank and other "elevator pitch" programs have helped in this regard?
