Very interesting post Frank, I was aware of gamification but from a far, but this post has been able to fill in some of the blanks for me. A recent example I liked comes from Marriott hotels who are using social gaming to help recruit new employees in locations around the world. Players have to carry out tasks that reflect what happens in a real hotel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNv8K8lGWsE&feature=player_embedded

Interesting, Frank.

As a Boomer (meaning geezer), I was an adult before vidya games hit. I never got the bug, like a lot of people my age - but some I know did, bigtime. For example, the pop-up balloon that one must chase all over the screen to X it out just annoys the heck out of me, while there may be people who think it's fun.
