It all sounds easy to develop your key message, just work out why should customers do business with you, why aren’t they and your brand personality. Hi Devon,

It is an easy trap to fall into. I know in my career I did. Perhaps part of the problem is small businesses do not know how to go as I call it outside in.

It would be great for you and others to share any tips.

Regards,

Susan

Thanks Yoni. It takes a bit more work but at least you know your message is the one they want to hear. One other thing is to check in with your customers every now and then to make sure the message is still relevant as cutomers thoughts, feelings and behaviour can change over time.

Susan, Great article! You are so right in positing that looking outside-in is a great and highly-effective approach to building an effective marketing message. It is getting inside the heads of prospective customers and clients which ultimately allows us to deliver the correct message. Thanks for another great bit of insight!!
