I would add one more. get involved in the local community. Go to community events, provide in kind donation, work with others. In short do whatever you can without spending lot of money to get your name in front of potential customers.

Right! Definitely important to network and build relationships with those in your community. Local associations can help greatly with this.

Fantastic post. Networking is the way to go when promoting a product without a budget. You have to be able to get around, as you stated, build those relationships and get the word out. One great way to do that online is by guest posting and offering the host of your guest post a commission on each product sold from that guest post.
