I start by planning out most of my week in advance to minimize distractions. I still use a notebook and paper. I work best in the mornings so I try and get important stuff done then. To sharpen my mind, I do about an hour of reading a night. I should do more quit thinking, I'm realizing that I'm not doing enough of that.
