How does this compare to B2B vs. B2C? Are there examples of crossover between consumer and shopper marketing? Would be great if you could share your thoughts over in the BizSugar comment section so that all our members can have the benefit of your insights.

Both consumer marketing and shopper marketing are B2C activities although I suppose the same techniques could be used in B2B. Essentially, consumer marketing is focused on making a sale; shopper marketing is focused on increasing consumption.
There would certainly be crossovers and the potato chip example is a good one. I always buy the same brand but when another brand put a "Buy 2, Get 1 Free" sale, I switched brands AND bought more than I normally would have.
