Canva is still a great option most of the time. I usually stick to Canva for simple images. Anything that requires more significant editing, or dealing with layers/transparent backgrounds and such, I'll use Photoshop. PicMonkey is a good alternative that's cheaper. I tried using that actually but I'm so familiar with Photoshop at this point.
