Unfortunately the same thing has happened to me as well. Sometimes I just don't have the time to update my blog or do some promotion. Even though I start worrying about it, I wait and wait. That is definitely something that should not be done for a successful blog. Having a plan to stick to is the best way to get rid of similar situations and still it is not a 100% guarantee that it won't happen.

Hi and thanks, you have hit the nail on the head there - "still it is not a 100% guarantee that it won't happen."

Re-enforcement is so important to keep us on track, not something that can be "planned" and then assume it will happen.

Hi Alexandra,

Often the only cure for procrastination is to eat that elephant!!

Or break a seemingly difficult task into smaller pieces. When it comes to blogging, i find you need to be thinking about it daily, so it becomes part of your natural thought process (like remembering to drink enough water, or go out to exercise, or looking for content for something) Once a habit is formed, it becomes easier, but like everything, needs to be re-enforced regularly. Life throws up things every day to distract us!

I'd add new customers after all that's what it's all about. The thing to remember for newbies is that it takes a little time but it will happen. As with any social media ensure that you measure your efforts so that you can focus on what works for you and your market. :)

There are so many people who have extensive experience of blogging, not least the great bloggers here! So there are lots of resources out there for people to research, and learn the process of measurement, AND patience :)
