Susan,

The problem with ebooks, from my perspective (I write myself and a wife in publishing):

1) In the literary world (business, fiction, etc.) only about 1 in 30,000 manuscripts ends in publication. The review process by publishers ensures that those that get through the process are really that good (in theory). With eBooks, anyone can publish one...and now it seems almost everyone is. It means that most would not cut the grade in the publishing world.

2) Most business eBooks which I have read are simply a bunch of old blog articles cut and pasted together for a "book."

If the Ebook is a freebie on a website, there is some leeway for quality, though if someone is going to self-publish one in hopes of selling, it better be damn good...

and...CREATIVE!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Yoni and I have seen the same thing. There is still a place for them but it shouldn't necessarily be the only format considered.

So true, Susan.

Do you remember if it was a blog about blogging (they only have blogging advice to sell - besides the ubiquitous ads), or about marketing, etc?

Hi Duncan,

If I remember it was a blog about blogging.
