My cousin is in that same demographic, and she uses Facebook as her main email address. It really surprised me to hear that.

I just submitted a story about research done on Facebook types. His niece could fit into a few of those types, but certainly a Essentialist.

The first thing I thought about this article was that I don't get the whole Facebook craze either, but there's a bigger lesson here. This article is a perfect example of why you should NEVER based marketing and media-buying decisions on what YOU like or think will work unless you're a good example of your target market.
