It would indeed be alarming but for the fact that Anything with built-in GPS is tracking wherever it goes without our permission. The Gubmen have full access to all data stored in the "black boxes" - such as our movements, and things like car crash data. (Insurance companies have crash info access, too - in case the policy holder is in violation.)

What bothers me is that the data is unencrypted. That means, if your iPhone or iPad got hacked, the hacker can access the data (and we all know there are smart hackers who are able to hack iPhone easily...)
