The speaker was recommending that the members of the audience switch from buying branded milk and other goods to buying own brand. The argument being that it is much cheaper and it is same product, same producer, same cows and the insinuation that this is still supporting the producer.

Hi Paula.

In NE Ohio, I've yet to see a store brand that cost as much as the brand item, more-so with generics, which are the cheapest, but don't carry the store brand. Interesting point about the store brand eclipsing the brand itself, or the store switching suppliers.

Thanks for the comment, Duncan. Stores have a right to make money, sure, but we have to guard our local suppliers - they're almost becoming an endangered species!
