Some leave Next Blog Comment to build a relationship with the blogger, some leave comments on commentluv enabled blogs to get a dofollow backlink to their posts and some leave comments just for the sake of it.

Blog commenting should be used to build relationships. The whole link building strategy doesn't work at all anymore.

I remember reading a similar articles not long ago, and then I first met the thought of the importance of a gravatar. Since then I have added it and it for sure help the amount of comments I write on other blogs to get approved. I also agree with mark that a user should use a real name, and not a keyword name. What you write about the length of a blog comment is also very true! It must contain some useful input and add value to the article! Thanks again!
