Hi Sarah,

I know some say lightboxes and pop ups for people to sign up does increase subscriptions, but I do find them annoying and they take attention away from reading the article. I also agree about flash and I click out as I do not want to wait watching it load.

Hi Susan,

Those pop-up boxes bug me too. I can't say I've ever left a site because of it though. I do wish the boxes were a bit more savvy and didn't pop up for people already on the list. Cheers, Sarah

Last night in a business blog I was forced to chase a "balloon" moving around the screen to hit the "X" to turn it off. It was like a bad video game forced on someone who doesn't like video games!
