A great point here about talking to the customer/visitor instead of talking about yourself on the about page. After all, this isn't really about you, is it? Another subtler point here is that in places where your story and that of your customers may converge (you've created a product out of a need you experienced personally in your life and now you are sharing it with others), more about you may actually be a good idea.
