Anyone can create a simple listing on Yelp and be done with it. But, there are actually a lot of little details you can add as you go deeper and optimize your Yelp listing. The site gets 100 million visits per month, so it may just be worth it.

Emory:

I think it was a good move by you. Keep it fresh in cyberspace! :)

I hope that Gary S. could come back with the source to the story on how Yelp is removing users...

Emory: Good. You are welcome. What did you think about the situation. Is it time to scream "H(Y)elp"?! ;)

I'm not worried but I updated my Yelp account and added a review today. The only reference I saw to removing users was this and I'm not really sure what the source is, just opinion I suppose:

(Caution: If your customer isn’t an active Yelp user, their review will most likely not stay active)

Emory: Do a search here on BizSugar and read the entry about Yelp removing old entries.

Emory Rowland: I learned from an entry here that Yelp is removing not active users / hiding old reviews. I can't understand that procedure.

Wow, I hope not. I better go log into my Yelp account and write a review so they don't remove me. It's been a while since I posted there. Thanks.

Emory Rowland: Thanks for your reply. What is your favorite feature on Yelp?

Lyceum, the reviews are what stand out for me. I don't really use the mobile app. I think if Yelp ever de-emphasizes reviews, they will be in trouble.

Never thought there was so much to Yelp rather than just being a plain boring review site. I'm just a little confused with your recommendation on encouraging check ins in Foursquare when you're talking about a Yelp post... :)

Thanks for bringing that up. It should have been more of an encouragement to use the new Yelp app's check-in feature which mimic's Foursquare's.

For The Win? ;) Yelp is very strong on the North American market. Do you know how much presence they have internationally?

Great question. I haven't been able to find any numbers but they must be serious about international - I see 20+ country landing pages in their footer, mostly European.
