SEO clean up doesn’t work like spring cleaning. You need to do it whenever it’s necessary as opposed to only once a year. Because the search engines are constantly tweaking their algorithms and the rules are always changing, an SEO campaign needs to evolve over time as well.

Hi Nich,

These are some good tactics. I really like the article submission and nofollow tag.

Article submission (directory) used to be useful but nowadays, the value of it really dropped a lot. Not worth the time but you could STILl submit to good sites.

NoFollow is plain simple and can't agree more especially the part about manipulating the search engines.

I think mass directory submissions, advertorials, and article submissions have been a "don't" for a while, but yeah, many businesses haven't caught up yet! I guess the rule to follow is, don't do anything to game search engines: do it if it's good for your visitors!
