After I read the article I wrote a comment and published it. Then I edited it to include a link to another clever article about writing and my comment disappeared!
That ain’t cool.
I can only surmise that you don’t allow comments with links. I spent a lot of time typing that comment, and then I had to go find the link to the content I wanted to share with your readers. It would’ve ‘added value’ to your blog post.
You may want to rethink your policy about links. The Internet is based on links. In fact, it’s the only way to share content!

I'm sorry about the issue that you had. Please rest assured that my site does not exclude comments with links. If you sift through some of my blog posts, you will in fact see quite a few comments that include links.
The system that I use is called Disqus and if it detects a comment that may include a promotional link, it will mark it as spam.
That is not what happened here! Your comment did not get saved, so I can only assume it was a technical issue at the time you posted it, either with my site, Disqus, your browser or your internet connection. I'm afraid there is no way to be sure.
Unfortunately, these kinds of things do happen and I recognize that it's annoying. It happens to me on websites and social networks frequently. I've made it a habit that, if I'm investing a lot of time into a comment or post, before hitting save I select all and Copy so that if anything goes wrong, it's in my computer's clipboard and can be pasted again easily.
