Social media is a communications tool, it does not drive direct sales. When social media first became the rage, and now a necessity, many people became enamored with the sheer numbers of followers they had. It literally did become a numbers game and many believed that the higher their numbers, the more money they would make. Is this true?

I love your perspective on social media. It is and should be used as a 'communications' tool. I think that a lot of SMB have the wrong idea with social media and seek to use it as a way to directly acquire new clients, which while that is possible, should not be the primary focus. Thanks for sharing your insights with us.
