Nicole: Thanks for the information. Did the ISP remove the content?

You know what? I actually don't remember! I found this article awhile ago (2010 or 2011), so if nothing else, a Google Panda or Penguin probably swept the entire site off the map! :)

Nicole: I like your attitude! What's the acronym, DMCA, standing for?

It's short for "Digital Millennium Copyright Act". It's the notification you send to a website's hosting provider (and Google if you want) that says the website has stolen your content. The host can remove the content, and Google can keep the offending page from showing up in their search results.

Nicole: I am sorry to hear about your experience. Do you think that this kind of "spunned" article could damage your SEO reputation on the net? Could Google react to similar content on different sites?

As a writer, I was definitely concerned about it. After all, if people think I write like that, that's a very bad thing! :) However, there are people all over the web who have no problem stealing content (whether they spin it or not). Instead of dwelling on it, I contact the site owner, send a DMCA, and move on. It's the only way to stay sane ;)

Nicole: Thanks for speaking up for humans and against robots on the net! ;) More power to you! What happened with your "spunned" article?

Glad you enjoyed it!

As far as that spun article goes, I believe I sent a not-so-nice email to the site owner where it was published. Of course, they never got back to me. (Probably had a robot checking their emails! LOL!) This was a few years back, so hopefully it's been flushed off the web by now :)
