If you see that people truly appreciate your work you will find it easier to be motivated than if they don’t.

I feel comments should come naturally w/o regard for link juice. Usually I feel compelled to comment if something I've read really strikes me.

I also liked what Onibalusi said about posting frequency. There are many very good authors on BizSugar who only post every week or two, and I always eagerly await their contributions.

I have mixed feelings about getting blog comments. On one side, genuine comments are great! On the other side I see so many bloggers writing about how they leave comments just to promote themselves and get links to their blogs. Those types of comments are not necessarily supportive and encouraging, they are just self-serving tools that people use and they can be dismissed as "B.S."

Good article on getting comments, hopefully the worthwile kind.
