Some other negatives are: some people find it quite intrusive (since you're neither friend nor family - and are likely push-selling), some don't want to be reminded it's their birthday - or that they're any older, and many "mature" adults couldn't care less about their own birthday - the celebration is only for their family (AND the cake).
Worst, is it's a security issue - Don't give out your birthday.
