I absolutely agree with this article. I think that social media is THE very best way to keep in contact with your customers or blog readership. I believe that if you want to build a large social media following, it's best to first focus on building your email list and the THEN using that list to grow your social media presence and engagement. That way you have the best of both worlds and your following is more interactive and invested in your social brand presence. What would you say is the best way to begin building your email list?

I'm sure Ron has a point here. I'm equally sure I've heard the argument from others before. My question for you with your sales experience is this. Does email remain the most effective online sales tool -- even with all we're hearing about the growth of social commerce, etc.? Is there any data on this?
