The argument between single and double opt-in list building has been going on since email marketing was created! There are obvious benefits to both, but the benefits of single opt-in outweigh the drawbacks, especially with the tip I reveal in this video (where I go a bit off track).

Hi Gabe,

I totally agree with using single optin. I use it for all of my lists. The way that I further segment and validate the subscribers that signup for my list is by putting my freebie offer inside of a free members area inside of my membership site.

Everyone who signs up for it has to create a free user account. A password will be emailed to them using the email they provided during the sign up process. So if they are really interested in my freebie offer, they'll be forced to used a valid email to get access to it.

This is the way that I've recently been doing it and it's allows me to to get as many subscribers as possible on the front end and further segment them on the backend. Plus, I activate other profit funnels inside of the membership site once they log in (via internal ads and upgrade bonuses, etc.) Win, win, Win! :)

Thanks for sharing this awesome info with us, Gabe!
