Years ago, I briefly worked with an agency that specialized in product packaging and the design process was fascinating. I distinctly remember an entire wall covered with ice cream package mock-ups and the only difference between one and the next was a variation in the placement and shade of a violator graphic. They analyzed every package design down to the nth degree.

Thanks for sharing the post, Jim. I think there's a lot going into great packaging. Of course, the product itself is important too, but making it stand out is critical.
