What the heck is a Reebok? How did ASUS get its name?

Names are a crucial part of any brand, and it can be surprising just how much or how little meaning some names hold.

Here are just a few interesting stories behind some popular brand names.

UpmarketArt: Yeah, you are right about that! ;) It is funny when it is hard for Scandinavians to pronounce the name and spell it! But, it is memorable in a tasty way... :)

I am from Scandinavia so I know that Häagen-Dazes was not a real Scandinavian (Danish) name. It is hard to spell! ;) Why did they think that ice cream should sound Scandinavian? Could it be the tasty Danish pastry?! ;)

English doesn't use too many diacritics in vowels, especially umlauts. Maybe that's why they thought it would look vaguely Scandinavian. haha

Lol! Yahoo's origins is weird. I didn't know it was about some cavement and stuff. Nike - my favorite company name among the list, classy and well, I just love Greek mythology.

I rather think ASUS is weirder. Still Greek Mythology, though.
