The more I learn about startups the more I realize that one’s chance of succeeding is a continuum rather than some kind of binary state.

In other words, when you read a blog post that talks about “X Ways to Succeed with Your Startup” what they really mean is “X Ways to Potentially Increase Your Chance of Success With Your Startup. But the second title is too clumsy so we bloggers abbreviate.

Some of these really are the common pitfalls for bootstrappers and other business people. I have to tell you, I've been guilty of a couple of them myself, but live and learn. Especially the one about doing everything yourself. I believe that's one that many entrepreneurs are guilty of, but you can tell pretty quickly that it's hurting your business when you realize that your business is running you rather than the other way around, and your client list is limited to what only you can handle--growth is stymied. It's good to be conscious of this stuff. Great post!
