There is a lot of debate about cold calling, who, when, if, why. But at the end, I don't see how you can be in B2B sales and be successful without cold calling. Tony Johnston poses some good questions, but at the end, it is part of the trade no matter who is involved. Have your say.

For very small startups, ones where perhaps there is no sales force and a single proprietor or a two or three person team is responsible for all operations from providing services and product to bringing in new clients and customers, I think the cold calling approach must again be considered in the context of how much time the founding team actually has to do it versus developing new product, servicing and enhancing the service of existing customers and networking with possible leads to bring in new business.
