I think the intention above is to be seen as caring about your customers, but it's a fine line between demonstrating care & being seen as annoying. If a customer searches for an item & buys, they may intend it as a one-off, and not want a lot of follow up (by which I mean continuing to email for weeks & months after the single 1st-time/1-time purchase w/suggestions & reminders of your services. & products).
