Whenever I give speak or give training on using social media for sales this is invariably one of the first things I get from the audience is, "How Do You Find C-Level Executives on Linkedin?"
Sales people need to be masters of social networks and behavior. We need to be students of how people are interact, not where they keep their phone numbers and email addresses.

I agree. Complex sales require complex methods. There are no silver bullets. And I've found creativity is often the most rewarded sales tool of all. Look at things and cleverly figure out how they can bring you and your goal closer together.

I guess it's a mistake to put too much emphasis on any one tool when it comes to something as complex as small business or entrepreneurship. I've told the story before, I think, somewhere here on BizSugar that I've gotten the vast majority of my business through social media including blogging. That's still true today. But I would never tell a potential client these tools will absolutely be the only ones he/she needs. I believe they can be helpful, yes, but how helpful and for what purpose depends a lot on the business like any other tool.
