Blogs are a great way for writers to showcase their style and glad it is working for you. One question for you is are you targeting certain clients with your posts and have you found your new clients have similar characteristics, needs etc?
The other question is have you tracked other tactics you have used or is blogging the only one?
Happy New Year by the way.

Blogs in general are great for writers, not because we are better writers than anyone else, that is certainly not always the case. The advantage we have is that we don't need to write about anything in particular...the only need to show is that we can write well enough and creatively enough to be hired by someone who is looking for a writer.
Blogging is now officially the only tactic I am using. For the time being it seems to be enough. I'm not really targeting any demographic in particular, but I am sure that while my quirky style attracts some, it probably puts others off.
All the best,

In my businesses particularly my floral business I have learned that stepping back periodically and looking at what is working and what is not is so important. Call it ROI or what have you it works. I rely on customer feedback and my database that shows what product is moving and what might need to be re-thought. I think of my shmoozing with people about flowers even strangers like your blog writing. It eventually pays off with buyers. Great article!

It sounds like you have a great system in place for measuring ROI, one which utilizes, perhaps most importantly, the most critical aspect of all: customer feedback.
Much luck to you and I hope your flower business "blooms" in 2011!

Measuring is certainly important. It allows a blogger to measure profitability, the conversion of effort into profit and to see where changes might be applicable.
Thanks for stopping by!

I consider this a must read for every buisness blogger. It lends a new perspective to R.O.I.

It's more or less things I have learned along the way. One is that you need a concrete way to measure blog success and one of them is translating readers into paying clients.
