By Jana Moreno:

Think of it this way: imagine you have your own business with several employees underneath you, and you are there to support them in achieving their targets. You can push them, micro-manage them, and watch everything they do and comment on it (living in control), and it might work for a little while, but in the end it doesn’t work because they begin feeling afraid or resentful. Or, you can set them lose on their targets, allowing them to try out what works best for them and you can be on stand by if they have any questions. In other words, you allow them to work and find their own way (living in creation). You might have a whole room full of employees who each find what works best with them, and you don’t have to waste your time and energy micro-managing them making sure they do everything according to plan.

Jana Moreno: Do you have an idea how common it is for a small business owner to try to control his or her worklife, instead of creating new opportunities?
