When I was in a 9-5 job in 1993, I distinctly remember arriving into work on Monday mornings and being subjected to complaints, grumbles, disdain, and other such negative gossip...

Hi Elaine

When I worked part time in a hospital w/regular but odd days off I was always very careful not to overdo before a work day (and I don't even drink). My attendance was almost perfect - if I felt bad I might as well be at work feeling bad as at home.

Hi Duncan,

Thanks for the comment, you have highlighted a very important point here, that the person who really suffers the most is ourselves, when we do an injustice to ourselves.

I love training, it is in my blood, and the last thing I want is to head to work feeling over-tired or unwell. It is in my interest to maintain a healthy attitude, healthy body, and keep stress to manageable levels.

Only then am I being true to myself, and those I am working with on the day :)

Hi Elaine, great post! I absolutely agree with not over indulging on a Sunday, instead try get out for some form of physical activity and don't leave it too late to hit the hay.

It's a tough one for me Niall, as I am quite active from about 10pm, even if I have had a hard day. My evening slump is about 7-8pm (probably after the evening meal). So it takes discipline for me to hit the hay at a reasonable hour, but I do my best.

Sounds like you are the picture of health :)
