Catologue vs Catalog — if I were to ask which is the correct spelling, would you answer my question and move on or would you sit and think why I thought it should be spelled with a UE at the end?

They're Both correct, but many computers are to "stoopid" to know it!!! I still use my 40 year old dog-eared American Heritage soft-bound college dictionary (c1970) when I need to check something - couldn't care less what the online "results" are.
