Nope, aside from changing one's name and appearance what's done is done.

I also believe that some people do not think about the consequences at the time eventhough it is continually mentioned that once on the net it is there forever.

You are right with criminal records which I didn't even think about. Even the small things can catch up with you in this age when all information is only a click away. As for the photos, yes, being intoxicated can lead to some very dubious decision-making. Have fun, I ain't no angel, but STOP taking pictures of yourself in compromising positions!

I believe you are right that so many bad choices come from being under the influence of something. Whether it is a picture online or a criminal record for somthing stupid it has affects on seeking a job.

In my day all we had was the Polaroid camera, and no one was uploading anything except into a garbage truck!

I long for the days of Polaroids! Ah, the good old days. Much simpler times :)

The best I can come up with is that people used to want their 15 minutes of fame. Now that fame lasts a lifetime. People don't seem to realize it will follow them to the world of business and employment.

"Hello, I'd like to speak to The Internet Control Room."
"Yes, how can I help you?"
"The picture of me smoking a bong...could you kindly remove it?"
"Sure thing!"
