Hi Yoni.

Great read and a really good point. I love it when I can learn a lesson and have a little laugh all at the same time.

Hi Yoni,

Really enjoyed reading this post and I like the new Twitter photo with the car.

Shep and Rush,

Had the Countach and Farrah. It was one of the rites of passage in the 1980s!

Ivan,

Hey, at only around thirty dollars plus tax and shipping, it's rather affordable. The only form of a luxury car I will ever be able to drive.

Plastic or the real thing?

I must be just a tad older than You & Shepherd - in my day I had posters (both B+W, I might add) of Sophia Loren in a wet shirt from "Boy on a Dolphin" (C-'57), and Raquel Welch as a cave woman in animal fur from "One Million Years B.C." (C-'66). Adolescent boy poster marketing had not yet caught up with Color Photography!

Duncan,

I missed out on Sophia Loren, but caught the Raquel Welch craze in the tail-end. I actually sort of met her in a casino in Atlantic City in the early 80s where we had gotten in on fake IDs. She seemed rather friendly. I also remember that it was right about the time Marvin Gaye was murdered...for some reason I link the two in my mind. Anyhow, posters were a great form of promotion...from a time long gone by. Sadly.

Yoni, I actually always preferred the Lamborghini Countach which adorned my childhood bedroom right next to my Farrah Fawcett poster. My wife and I are not getting rich either but one of the things which nobody can ever take away are our dreams. With your talent and outlook anyway I suspect you are in it for a lot more than the money. Keep dreaming and making us smile and think.

Shep, Farrah was a must have for any teen boys room way back, along with the Countach. Thanks Yoni for a great one. Rush

Coming from a site dedicated to freelancers this reality check is most welcome. It is a great testament to the realities vs the expectations of people wishing to enter the freelance world.

Great job Yoni,

Ofira

Ofira and Shosh,

Thanks so much for your kind words! Ofira, the reality-check goes in both directions...I had people telling me I would NEVER make it, the competition is just too fierce!
