I love posts about building business relationships, because, to me it's one of the least understood parts of creating a business (or of living life for that matter.) So it probably goes without saying that I loved this post by Rosemary O'Neill on Liz Strauss's blog about building relationships. Now, when Rosemary talks about relationships, she's not talking about all that crap where people buy "likes," reviews, or (God forbid) whole friends on social media. She's talking about real relationships which will probably cost you much less money but a far greater investment of your time. Do yourself a favor and take the time to read Rosemary's full post here. I promise you it is an investment worth making.

Shawn: Rosemary O’Neill has written a great piece on referral marketing. I will show it to my teacher at the Certified Networker course by ReferensAkademin (Referral Institute in Sweden).

Rosemary,

Thanks so much for sharing these great thoughts on relationship building and, Liz, thanks for posting them. Despite all the technology out there, the rules of getting to know someone haven't changed. Fakers are pretty easy for most of us to spot, and, of course, even if it weren't for that, a fake or purchased network is no good to you at all. If you try to make your network look bigger than it is, you probably don't get it anyway.

I love your points Rosemary. Technology can improve customer relations but it can never make- up for "face-to-face" conversations with your customers. Personal interactions can slowly (but surely )build trust, confidence and good business relationships. Thanks for sharing, Shawn.

Thanks for posting this incredible and well written article. There are, of course, many different types of relationships that we all have which contribute in different ways to our financial wellbeing. The better your relationship with your partner and immediate family members, the happier you will be and the more likely you will be to succeed financially. And lastly, Good relationships in the workplace lead to increased opportunities for career development and pay rises. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing this post Shawn! I've commented. You can see what I wrote below...

Oh I LOVE this post Rosemary! Relationships are definitely what it's all about when it comes to building a long-term sustainable business online and offline.

I've just finished recording a 3 part video series about this very thing, how to build traffic alliances by building relationships. This is SO pivotal and I can't stress that enough.

I just relaunched my blog at the beginning of last month, and I've focused solely on building and leveraging relationships to build up my blog traffic and it's taken off like a rocket. I used to be a loner but I see now more than ever that there's NO WAY to build a successful business alone. You have to call on the help of others.

Thanks for writing this post. I found it on BizSugar.com. Shawn Hessinger shared it with our community and I'm so glad he did. It's wonderful see another true relationship builder and it's great to connect with you.
