In the book, The Luck Factor, Dr. Richard Wiseman states that "research revealed that lucky people generate their own good fortune via four basic principles." In The Luck Factor: The Four Essential Principles Dr. Wiseman states, “research revealed that lucky people generate their own good fortune via four basic principles. Tiffany,

Sounds like some very interesting research. I was struck especially by this:

"Dr. Wiseman’s take on this observation? That unlucky people tend to spend a lot of time in their own heads brooding about what’s not working for them and, consequently, fail to look around and see the opportunities that are all around them."

Perhaps there's a bit of this in all of us?

Hello Heather,

I agree! We talk on our cell phones or ponder issues in our heads while walking and potentially miss opportunities to engage. So if we want more good luck we have to be more aware. In yoga speak I think that's called being more "present".

The occasional "zoning out" does not bad luck make, but realizing we do this and doing something about it presents an opportunity to improve our luck!
