You will always get comments about your business online - both raves and rants. The raves are all good - but how to deal with the rants? Here are some tips.

@BizRock - haters are actually big fan of us - they only do things differently :D

@Sian Phillips and @Elainerogers - It seems that you have send your comments to Noobpreneur.com... apologise for not replying them here :)

Well done for touching on this sensitive subject Ivan. I have been through something similar when I first started on Twitter and it's only thanks to a few people (who I didn't know then) who stuck up for me that I carried on with Twitter and thank goodness I did. My mistake then was to reply to these "haters" - not in an argumentative way but just trying to explain my point. And it got worse - comment battle is a great term for it. So now if it happens - which is rare thank goodness - I rise above it (and them) and ignore them. Thanks for sharing on Bizsugar.com

Hi Ivan,

I commend your attitude and the way you have welcomed the negative reactions with open arms - that surely will neutralize a lot of the negativity.

Bottom line is, statistically, there will always be a negative reaction on a SM or SN site. I don't know what the ratio is +ve versus -ve, but even on the MOST inspiring of blogposts or videos I have seen online, there is always ONE who will be derogative, negative, accusatory or worse!

My way of dealing with negative people online and offline, is simply the thought "whatever they are saying is more about them than me" If they say they hate me (and don't know me) then they hate themselves, and I am merely the channel that they use to express that.

Works for me every time :)
